Denise Tervo PhD. is a licensed psychologist, supervisor
and trainer in private practice in Pittsburgh, with a part time
practice in Wilmington, North Carolina. She has provided
counseling to adults, adolescents, children and families for
over 35 years.

Denise received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her PhD from the University of Pittsburgh.
Denise is active providing clinical supervision in various settings, and teaching in the United States and abroad. She has taught at the Esalen Institute in California, as well as in Malta and Israel.
Denise has been a faculty member at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland since 1994. She teaches in the following programs: Gestalt Therapy Training Program, Working with Physical Process, Child and Adolescent.
Denise has been on the faculty of the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh since 2008. She teaches in the Training Program for Professionals, and provides workshops and program development.
Denise has taught at Duquesne University in the Counselor Education and Supervision program. She has taught graduate level courses on: Group Counseling, Supervision and Practicum, Child Psychotherapy and Play Therapy.
Denise has worked in various settings, including:
Children's Hospital, mental health out-patient program, residential programs, and as a consultant for Head Start, a therapeutic preschool, and a state agency working on trauma and abuse with adults and families. She has been a licensed psychologist in private practice since 1989.
